- Promotion to Lt. (j.g.) after a successful mission assignment where her discovery of solotron particles in the atmosphere of a planet saved the lives of the Away Team
Character: Ninane has been diagnosed on Trill as being invalid and unfitting for a joining with a symbiont. Because of her fathers 'shame', she was never able to find friends among Trill. And because of the strange reputation of her parents, and her mother's odd behaviour of having only one lover, she had the same problem on Denobula, where she grew up. That has made her revert into herself and towards science, although her personality has the potential for a much more extroverted and relaxed behaviour.
Medical record: It became clear soon that she inherited the long life span from her mother's side. She looks outwardly 100% Trill, without the facial ridges and peculiarities of a Denobulan, except for her eyes, that have the blazingly blue colour of a Denobulan. She has the same sleep/awake rythem as Denobulans (they require close to no sleep and regularly have a one month hibernation period where they sleep the whole time). Otherwise her body is mostly Trill, even with the belly cavity for the symbiont. Yet doctors on Trill have declared her unfit for joining.
Family: Her mother (Talara) is Denobulan and lives happily with her father (Luthien Par), who is a joined Trill, on Denobula. Both of them are misfits in their own way. Her mother has only one husband with Luthien, who isn't Denobulan, and is monogamous with him, which is very unusual on Denobula.
Par fell in love with Talara as Par's former host Forin Par. He married Talara and grew old with her. When he died Par was joined with Luthien and he broke the Trill laws and re-joined Talara. He is hence a criminal on Trill and is in exile on Denobula. Also Luthien fathered Niniane when he was only 18 years of age, directly after being joined with Par. He is now an old man but still alive and plans on re-joining Talara again with the next host.
Hobbies: Holodeck games; Niniane is an author of holodeck-novels and has published 6 bestseller novels already. They are very well known on Earth and Trill.
